Heath is a city in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties, Texas, United States. The population was 4,149 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.9 square miles (18 km2), of which, 6.9 square miles (18 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) of it (0.58%) is water.
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,149 people, 1,380 households, and 1,214 families residing in the city. The population density was 604.5 people per square mile (233.5/km²). There were 1,462 housing units at an average density of 213.0/sq mi (82.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.20% White, 0.82% African American, 0.39% Native American, 1.35% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 1.30% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.01% of the population.
There were 1,380 households out of which 46.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.9% were married couples living together, 3.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 12.0% were non-families. 9.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.01 and the average family size was 3.21.
In the city the population was spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 28.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 104.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $98,975, and the median income for a family was $99,415. Males had a median income of $71,707 versus $42,933 for females. The per capita income for the city was $51,049. About 2.0% of families and 3.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.7% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
Heath is a part of the Rockwall Independent School District. The city is served by Dorothy Smith Pullen Elementary School, Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School, Maurine Cain Middle School, and Rockwall Heath High School.
A proposition was placed on the November 4, 2008 ballot that, if passed, would have changed the name from "City of Heath" to "Village of Heath."[4] Of the 3,511 votes cast, 2,069 (58.9%) voted against the measure while 1,442 (41.1%) voted in favor.[5][6]
